  • Mythic Journeys: The Big Myth is a new experimental learning module designed for use in European primary school classrooms. It is a sociology textbook for the comparative study of world creation mythology. The myths are told using Flash animation and are accompanied by an overview of the culture, the pantheon of the gods and a series of exercises based on that culture. The Big Myth combines the internet and Flash animation as a presentational medium with a highly progressive group learning method known as complex instruction. Teachers are advised to start in the teacher's section for more complete instructions. The Big Myth consists of the Mythology section, Links and Bibliography for further research, a Write Your Own Creation Myth section for students, the Teacher's Guide and a Discussion Forum where an off-line debate is held over the material.
  • Pathways: Pathways to Freedom: Maryland and the Underground Railroad has been designed to help students in Grades 4 and 8 look more closely at people, stories, and events of that surrounded this important effort.
  • The Historical Scene Investigation Project (HSI) was designed for social studies teachers who need a strong pedagogical mechanism for bringing primary sources into their classroom.Participate in investigations related to history.

  • HippoCampus: HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE). The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge.
  • Eye Witness to History - EyeWitness to History is your students’ ringside seat to history—from the ancient world to the present. The program, presented by Ibis Communications, a digital publisher of educational programming, uses firsthand accounts along with film clips and audio (voices) from the past. Students will also find notable quotes, a photo of the week and snapshots of events that happened in the current month.
  • National Jukebox: The Library of Congress presents the National Jukebox, which makes historical sound recordings available to the public free of charge. The Jukebox includes recordings from the extraordinary collections of the Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation and other contributing libraries and archives.
  • The Secret Annex lets students travel back in time to Anne Frank’s hiding place. Students can explore Anne’s house in a super cool 3D interactive environment. The Secret Annex gives students an authentic feel for the place where Anne wrote her diary while listening to stories of everyone who lived in the hiding place. In addition to the 3D hiding place, students can review historical archive material about the war and view unique TV broadcasts where memories are shared.

  • Xtimeline: free website that lets you create timelines and explore timelines about history, biography and more.
  • Dipity: Dipity is a free digital timeline website. Our mission is to organize the web's content by date and time. Users can create, share, embed and collaborate on interactive, visually engaging timelines that integrate video, audio, images, text, links, social media, location and timestamps.
  • Tiki-Toki is an absolutely GORGEOUS multimedia timeline creator. Tiki-Toki is very easy to use, after registering for an account, students are guided step-by-step through creating an interactive timeline. Students can add text, images (Flickr) and video (YouTube or Vimeo) to a timeline. Images can be uploaded from a student computer or found through a search on Flickr. Throughout the creation process, tool tips pop-up to guide students through creation. Students can share saved timelines with a unique URL.
